Delhi craft fair for SC, OBC and disabled artisans runs to 15 November

A 15-day craft fair for artisans from Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, Safai Karamcharis and persons with disabilities is on at Dilli Haat, INA, in New Delhi until 15 November.

The Shilp Samagam Mela 2026, organised by the Social Justice Ministry, has more than 130 stalls of handicrafts, handloom products and other creative work. Its theme is "Prakash aur Parampara - Jyoti se Jyoti Jalayen", and it is arranged in seven zones covering live craft demonstrations, lamps and festive lights, devotional items, home décor, textiles, regional food and a stage for evening performances.

What the ministry says

The ministry has held Shilp Samagam Melas since 2022. Through 15 such fairs, it says, more than 1,000 artisans from these communities have had a chance to display and sell their work. The mela includes Bharat TULIP, which links artisans to e-commerce platforms, and Purple Fest, which showcases the work of persons with disabilities.

Every evening, artists from different states perform folk dances, music and regional art forms at the Manch stage. Participating artisans are supported by the ministry's finance and development corporations for Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Safai Karamcharis.

The release does not give visitor numbers or sales so far.
