Around 150 employers and compliance professionals were briefed on their duties under India's four Labour Codes at a "Shram Samvad" programme in Nagda, Ujjain district, Madhya Pradesh, on 4 November 2026.
The Union Labour Ministry and the Madhya Pradesh Labour Department organised the event with Grasim Industries Limited. S. R. Datta, Director in the Labour Ministry, presided. Sqn. Ldr. S. K. Singh (Retd.), Vice President at Grasim Industries, co-chaired. Officials from EPFO, ESIC, the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) and the Directorate General Labour Welfare attended, along with more than 150 participants from industry and from legal, HR and finance teams.
What was covered
Ministry officials explained the compliance requirements for employers under each of the four Labour Codes and the Central Rules framed under them. EPFO staff took sessions on the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY), and the Labour Welfare office covered the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) pension scheme.
Participants received a "Handbook of Compliance for Employers" and a compilation of frequently asked questions, both prepared by the ministry. A question-and-answer session followed.
The ministry says such events bring Central and State authorities and industry together to support adoption of the Labour Codes.
