More than 150 employers and compliance professionals attended a Labour Ministry awareness programme on the new Labour Codes in Indore on 3 November.

The "Shram Samvad" session was organised jointly by the Ministry of Labour and Employment and Madhya Pradesh's Labour Department, with the Association of Industries Madhya Pradesh and Pithampur Audhyogik Sangathan. Madhya Pradesh Labour Commissioner Sheetala Patle presided.

Ministry Director S. R. Datta gave the keynote on the codes' key features. Officials explained what employers must do under each of the four codes and the central rules. Representatives of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) spoke on the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, and the Directorate General Labour Welfare on the PM Shram Yogi Maandhan pension scheme.

Participants were given the ministry's "Handbook of Compliance for Employers" and a compilation of frequently asked questions, and a question-and-answer session followed.
