Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet India's contingent from the Asian Para Games 2026 on 5 November, at around 4:30 pm at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi, and will address the gathering.
India had its best-ever Asian Para Games this year in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. A total of 97 Indian para-athletes won 114 medals: 30 gold, 35 silver and 49 bronze.
The programme will be attended by athletes, coaches, officials of the Paralympic Committee of India and the Indian Olympic Association, representatives of national sports federations and officials of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The release does not say whether the meeting will include any announcements.
The record behind the meeting
The 114 medals come from 97 Indian para-athletes at the games in Aichi-Nagoya. Separately, the Sports Department's quiz on the MY Bharat portal says India fielded 168 athletes in 11 disciplines and 177 events at the Asian Para Games; the two PIB figures are as published and the release does not explain the difference in the number of athletes.
