Air Force schools across the country have joined a child digital safety programme, with 261 teachers from 42 schools certified to protect pupils from online harm.
The Indian Air Force Educational & Cultural Society, under Air Headquarters, signed the schools up to ScrollControl, run by the Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) Foundation. The move coincides with National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
What the teachers are trained for
The teachers have completed a certification course as Cyber Crime Intervention Officers. They are trained to guard children against online grooming and exploitation, misuse of artificial intelligence, gaming-related harms and financial fraud, to preserve digital evidence and to act as first responders.
What schools get
The release says the Central Board of Secondary Education has asked affiliated schools to build cyber-safety practice into school life, including a monthly Cyber Jagrookta Diwas. ScrollControl lets Air Force Schools:
- form cyber clubs and certify students on cyber safety;
- hold awareness sessions for parents and staff;
- use an age-appropriate content-rating platform for families;
- be recognised as a Cyber Safe School.
ISAC Foundation also provides teacher certification, listing on the National Security Database and 24x7 victim support from cyber lawyers, cyber psychologists and forensic experts.
