Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on 1 November flagged off the Bengaluru–Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper Express, giving travellers an overnight, premium link between India's IT capital and its financial capital.

The train runs between SMVT Bengaluru and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai, via Anantapur, Guntakal, Raichur, Yadgir, Wadi, Kalaburagi, Solapur, Pune and Kalyan. The Ministry of Railways said it brings premium train service to parts of North Karnataka that previously lacked it.

Timings and days

  • From Mumbai: departs CSMT at 20:10, reaches Bengaluru at 12:00 the next day.

He said Bengaluru–Mangaluru Vande Bharat services are expected within weeks, after electrification and testing are completed. He also said Bengaluru–Chennai would take 73 minutes and Bengaluru–Hyderabad about 2 hours 10 minutes, referring to planned high-speed corridors.
