The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has digitised about 5 lakh pages of historical records and earned ₹35 lakh from selling scrap during Special Campaign 6.0, the Defence Ministry said.

The campaign, coordinated by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, aims to cut pending work, speed up grievance redress, digitise records and clean up offices.

DRDO says it has met 100% of its targets for clearing pending public grievances, parliamentary assurances and references from other ministries.

About 20,000 files marked for weeding out are being disposed of under record-retention rules. The shredded paper goes to the Khadi and Village Industries Commission for recycling.

Old equipment, unused furniture and scrap are being cleared from DRDO campuses, housing complexes and test ranges.
