Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan inaugurated the ministry's new official website on 4 November at Panchsheel Bhawan, New Delhi, with Secretary Avinash Joshi and other senior officials.
The revamped site follows the latest government standards and adds stronger data protection, multilingual support and better search. The ministry says it will serve as the main digital interface for citizens and industry to find its policies, schemes and programmes.
The site is at mofpi.gov.in.
What is new
According to the ministry, the website was developed to comply with the latest Government of India standards and guidelines. It adds data-protection and security mechanisms, multilingual access and improved search so visitors can find information on the ministry's schemes and programmes more easily. The ministry described the launch as a step towards "citizen-centric service delivery". The release does not say how many people used the old site or what it cost to build the new one.
