The Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW) took its Digital Life Certificate campaign to Prayagraj on 4 November, urging pensioners to submit their life certificates by face authentication on a smartphone.
Joint Secretary Dhrubajyoti Sengupta attended the Nationwide Digital Life Certificate Mega Camp 5, organised by the North Central Railway's Prayagraj Division with the State Bank of India at the Divisional Railway Manager's office. He told pensioners that face authentication means they need not make repeated trips to banks and other offices.
Sengupta asked banks, departments and other stakeholders to keep up awareness efforts so that "no eligible pensioner is left behind". The camp was also attended by Prayagraj Divisional Railway Manager Rajneesh Agrawal, UIDAI Director Akash Deep and Mudit Chandra of the North Central Railway.
The release does not give the number of pensioners who took part or the campaign's deadline.
