APEDA has facilitated the export of 1.3 tonnes of Sinduri pomegranates from Kullu in Himachal Pradesh to Dubai, and says participating farmers got 50% higher prices than the prevailing domestic market benchmark.
The consignment, 650 boxes of 2 kg each, was exported by Uttar Pradesh-based Amama Exports. The fruit was sourced directly from local farmers and the Bhuntar Farmer Producer Organisation, which is associated with about 600 farmers, with the Kullu district horticulture administration helping with procurement and coordination.
Why it matters
The release says Himachal Pradesh is best known for apples, and that the export adds to efforts to widen its farm export basket. In 2025-26, India exported APEDA-scheduled agricultural and processed food products worth about $2.59 billion, around 3.81 million tonnes, to the UAE.
APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev flagged off the consignment. The release does not say how large the price premium was in rupees or whether further shipments are planned.
