Panchayats across India will start preparing their development plans for 2027-28 after a national workshop on the People's Plan Campaign in New Delhi on 30 October.
Panchayati Raj Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) is to open the one-day workshop. About 400 officials from state Panchayati Raj departments, rural development institutes and central ministries are expected.
What is on the agenda
- Release of the People's Plan Campaign 2026-27 booklet.
- An MoU to set up electric vehicle charging and battery swapping stations.
- Sessions on the quality of Gram Panchayat Development Plans, tied and untied grants under the 16th Finance Commission, panchayats' own revenue and the Samarth Panchayat Portal.
- Demonstrations of uploading plans to the eGramSwaraj portal.
State, district and block-level training will follow.
The campaign, "Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas", began on 2 October with special Gram Sabhas across the country. The ministry has run it since 2018 to help gram, block and district panchayats prepare plans through village consultations.
