Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a Sanskrit subhashitam on X on 4 November about self-realisation, saying that knowing one's true self awakens inner strength and confidence.

The verse reads: "प्रतिबोधविदितं मतममृतत्वं हि विन्दते। आत्मना विन्दते वीर्यं विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्॥"

According to the Prime Minister's Office, he said self-knowledge helps overcome mental anguish and guides a person towards peace and liberation.

The post carried no policy announcement.

What the verse says

The subhashitam is about knowledge of the self. As the Prime Minister's Office summarises it, knowing one's true self awakens "infinite inner strength and confidence", helps a person overcome mental anguish and guides them towards "profound peace and liberation". The Prime Minister's own post on X carried only the Sanskrit text, without further comment.
