Indian Railways held a "Rail Jan Samvaad" at 5,884 stations on 22 October to hear passengers' feedback on cleanliness, amenities and services, as part of Special Campaign 6.
Railway Board Chairman and CEO Satish Kumar met stakeholders in New Delhi, while the Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances took part at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai. The ministry says local problems raised will be followed up.
The campaign runs from 2 to 31 October. The Railway Ministry says it has surpassed several targets in cleanliness, scrap disposal, e-waste management, clearing pending matters and simplifying processes.
The release does not give figures for those targets or say how many passengers took part in the feedback sessions. Railways says it will keep up the practices adopted during the campaign after it ends.
