The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is running a 'Khadi Diwali Fest-2026' at Palika Park, Connaught Place, in Delhi, with 20% off on Khadi products and 10% off on village industry products, aimed at younger shoppers.
The fest began on 31 October under the theme 'Khadi-wali Diwali'. KVIC Chairman Manoj Goel, chief guest at a media interaction and 'Diwali Milan' on Sunday, said it aims to bring Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Ghar Swadeshi' call to Gen-Z, according to the Ministry of MSME.
What Goel said
He urged young people to see themselves as designers, digital promoters and entrepreneurs, not just buyers, and said modern designs and better branding could make Khadi more popular with them. KVIC has launched a podcast, 'Baat Khadi Ki', to reach this audience.
The sector in numbers
Goel said the Khadi and Village Industries sector's turnover exceeded ₹1.87 lakh crore in 2025–26 and it provides employment to over 2.04 crore people. He expressed confidence of reaching a turnover target of ₹2.51 lakh crore in the near future.
